A car AC repair shop can help you determine if your vehicle's AC system leaks with a test that includes putting dye into the air condition system and pressurizing the lines with air. If there is a leak, the dye will begin to seep out and show the technician where it is. 

If the dye comes out around fittings in the system, they may need new seals. However, if the dye appears on the surface of the AC condenser, you may need to replace it to fix the problem. The condenser is similar to a radiator in design, and if it can not withstand the system pressure, replacing it with a new part is easier than trying to fix it. 

Most car AC repair shops have parts for modern vehicle systems, but you may need to order replacement pieces for older cars and trucks once you determine what is required. Because AC repair parts are not cheap, it is vital to know what you need and not try and fix the problem by guessing what part to buy.
